Jem played three blues to much applause at The MBAS Jam Night. Jem came from a  non-musical background and in a matter of months has reached performance level. Well done Jembo!!!

Hi Max, we just spoke. I met Jeff during the week.

I like your website. I’d be interested in taking lessons when I’ve got some more time in my life. Hopefully that’s sooner rather than later.

    Cheers.

Hi, I have been playing Blues Harp for over 20 years but never played in a band.
I am looking for an opportunity to be part of a regular band, so if you know of anyone, please let me know.
Many times over the years I have taken a harp with me to live gigs and I have got up on stage to play along much to the enjoyment of both the band and audience.
I can play and it is a passion of mine along with playing my Cole Clark acoustic guitar to be in a regular band.
I look forward to hearing back from someone soon 🙂

    Regards
    Alan Fidler

I play at a place called Blue Note College of Music in Frankston on Saturday afternoons, check out this link: http://www.businessfrankston.com.au/emem/pub/EmemProfileA.asp?lngMemID=-1000149306

Give them a call and pop in, heaps of people rock up with their instruments and join in…I’ve been playing for about 15 years and this place have given me lots of opportunities to play with other musicians. Also talk to Max (who runs this site) he might know some other venues….you might also want to check out the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society (MBAS) who run a jam night on Tuesdays.

I’m always looking to catch up with other harp players and share ideas and a love of the instrument. Again ask max for my email and we can chat.

Good luck finding places to play, they are out there and people love to hear good harp players but you do need to hunt around a bit…

      Matt

Good on him…I’ve always found you can learn heaps from performing and playing with other people.
